SEE YOU THERE!
My answer to this is the same for most clubs, you get out of your membership what you put into it! The more you patronize, volunteer and get involved with your club, the more you get out of your membership. Without your patronage and/or involvement this doesn't work. Tonight, for example, out of almost 800 members, we had only two reservations for dinner and had no volunteers to bartend.
Members, for the most part, I feel, underutilize their memberships. Your membership not only allows you entrance and access to your club during all hours of operation and during most events. It also affords you a place to enjoy time with friends and family in a safe family friendly environment. We have a beautiful bar and playground. We offer good food and beer at reasonable prices. Members are also free to utilize their club for "Friendly" game nights with family and/or friends, play "Friendly" card games, you can play music of your choice on our Bluetooth speakers and engage in a variety of other legal activities. Your membership entitles you to utilize your club for you, your family and friends! The more you use it, the more you benefit from it, the more the club benefits, the more we can afford to expand what we offer our members! It's a win-win-win but we need our members to come out and enjoy/support their club.
Thank YouWe have an awesome Membership and Club, let's keep it going!! See you there!Prost!
As a member of our club, you are encouraged to get the most out of your club by using and enjoying YOUR CLUB! Did you know that your club is the perfect spot to bring family and friends for a game day/night. In the past it was not uncommon for groups of members to gather for friendly games of cards while enjoying their club. There is no reason this tradition should not continue. Your club is the perfect spot for our members to enjoy time with family and friends. So, lets put the phones down, gather with our family and friends and enjoy the atmosphere of your club while spending time with those you love.
Thank you to Dennis Christman for taking the lead in tackling our sewage repair. After years of spending money dealing with a variety of shitty issues, we finally got down to root of our problems. Also thank you to Daryl Zeiner and all who helped with this project!
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the Evergreen Club has learned of the sudden passing of member Alan Golden. Al was kindhearted and always greeted you with a smile, beer and conversation. I feel fortunate for the brief time I had known AL and grateful for the time I spent with him. Ronnie and I had the pleasure of AL being our "responsible" adult on one of our "Kielbasa Runs". AL will be deeply missed. Our sincere condolences and sympathies go out to the Golden family. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
Per LCB requirements, ALL MEMBERS are REQUIRED to have their MEMBERSHIP cards on their person while at the Club!
This is part of our Liquor License Agreement.
All Members are required to show their membership card to Bartender
Please don't be offended, but we are required to check all members. Even those who support us regularly.
Again, this not something that we wish to do, but we need to show due diligence in complying with the LCB!
SOME LONG TIME MEMBERS, MANY OF WHOM I HAVE NOT SEEN IN A WHILE, MENTIONED, TO ME, OR OTHERS, DURING NEW YEARS EVE, HOW IT WAS NICE TO SEE EVERYONE TOGETHER AGAIN ENJOYING THE CLUB AND MUSIC. I AGREE. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I'M PUZZLED? I'M NOT SURE WHERE MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN? OUR CLUB HAS BEEN HERE AND OPERATIONAL. IN FACT, I BELIEVE, THIS HAS BEEN A RECORD YEAR FOR US AS FAR AS EVENTS AND INCOME.
NOW I HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT OF THIS CLUB FOR NINE YEARS. I KNOW THERE IS A CERTAIN GROUP THAT WILL NEVER RESPECT THAT. HOWEVER, THROUGHOUT THOSE YEARS I MENTIONED TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT THINGS WOULD NOT CHANGE AS LONG AS MEMBERS SUPPORTED OUR WEEKLY GERMAN EVENTS. FOR WHATEVER REASON, THAT SUPPORT DWINDLED FORCING US TO REDUCE OUR WEEKLY EVENTS TO BIWEEKLY. HOWEVER, WE CONTINUED TO LOSE SUPPORT AND CONSEQUENTLY LOSE MONEY.
WE NEARLY WENT BANKRUPT WITH COVID. HOWEVER, WITH OPERATIONAL CHANGES, REDUCTION OF OVERHEAD, THE HELP OF LANCASTER LEIDERKRANZ, GENEROUS DONATIONS BY DEDICATED MEMBERS, THE SUPPORT OF OUR DEDICATED MEMBERSHIP, OUR BOARD, TRUSTEES, AND STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WE NOT ONLY SURVIVED BUT ARE THRIVING AND GROWING
OUR CLUB NEEDS TO EVOLVE AND GROW. WE NEED TO THRIVE AND SURVIVE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO ENJOY AND APPRECIATE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ON AND PROPAGATE GERMAN CULTURE TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. WE ARE CHANGING TO APPEAL TO A NEWER GENERATION OF MEMBERS AND FAMILIES, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO KEEP THE INTEREST OF OUR OLDER MEMBERS. IT WAS NEVER AN INTENTION TO CAUSE DIVISION OR PUSH LONG TIME MEMBERS AWAY. SADLY, THAT HAS BEEN A MISPERCEPTION FROM THE BEGINING OF MY TENURE FOR SOME REASON.
IT WAS NICE TO SEE SOME OLD FRIENDS BACK AND ENJOYING THE CLUB. WE HAVE BEEN HERE AND WE HAVE BEEN IN OPERATION. OUR GOAL IS FOR OUR MEMBERS SUPPORT OUR CLUB NOT JUST INDIVIDUAL EVENTS. WE HOPE YOU CONTINUE YOUR UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT AND WE SEE YOU AROUND MORE OFTEN. REMEMBER, YOU GET OUT OF YOUR CLUB WHAT YOU PUT INTO YOUR CLUB.
WE GET GOOD SUPPORT WHEN WE HOST EVENTS WHICH IS GREATLY APPRECIATED HOWEVER WE WANT MEMBERS TO KNOW THEIR CLUB IS OPEN ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND TO MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS. WE HAVE BOTH OUR KITCHEN AND BAR AVAILABLE IN A FAMILY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT. BRING THE KIDS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, GREAT GRANDPARENTS AND EVEN THE WELL-BEHAVED DOG IS WELCOME. IT'S YOUR CLUB! USE IT, SUPORT IT AND GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP!!!
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Evergreen Club announces the sudden passing of club member and dear friend Helene Miksitz.
Besides being a long-time member of the Evergreen family, Helene was a dear friend to Cindi, myself and our family. Our friendship dates back over thirty years. Cindi and I moved to the Oley Valley in 1992 and by happen chance landed next door to another couple from Philadelphia. Carl and Helene were a great comfort and being that we where from the same area with children of similar ages our lives quickly intertwined.
Helene was number nine of thirteen children. She often said there was always room for one more. During the last thirty plus years we developed into an extended family. With such a relationship there were many impromptu, as well as planned, get togethers in our backyards, our houses or in our basements. I would dare say we kept a few local wineries and breweries in business during this time as we celebrated family milestones and supported each other during the harder times.
Helene’s sudden passing was as unexpected as it was painful. We could only find comfort in that she will live on in our memories and our hearts. Helene you were deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
We ask that you join us in offering our deepest condolences to the Miksitz family and that you keep Helene, Carl, Chris, Eric and Tarah in your thoughts and prayers during their time of loss.
Patricia Keeney, sadly, is in need of a kidney transplant. If you can donate or share her story click on the following link:
MEMBERS AND THEIR GUEST ONLY!
Walt was an icon in the polka world receiving a grammy nomination and many other awards for his lifetime devotion and contributions to the promotion of the polka genre.
We were blessed to have Walt perform at our club on numerous Friday evenings. He was our member’s favorite and performed to a packed crowd every evening. He loved to play for our members and our members loved to spend the evening with Walt dancing to his music and listening to his stories.
Walt was truly a gentleman and a great, positive and generally happy person. He loved to play music and entertain his fans. He was always ready for a beer, some conversation and a quick story. He always had a smile on his face. I personally enjoyed and was entertained by Walt’s performances and cherish our conversations prior to and following his performances at the Evergreen Club. Walt is loved and will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to have known and/or have been entertained by him.
Please join the Evergreen Club in offering the Groller family our sincere condolences and sympathy. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during their time of loss.
