Special Notes

Thank You to Bob Martin and Troy Bowers for getting the outside dance floor sanded and coated so it will be ready for our June 4th evening with Makooch and June 5th Polish Polka featuring the Polka Family

I would like to thank the Tuesday crew for all they do for the club. In the last few weeks they had a pole erected to suppoprt our lighting improvements, cut down a tree to support that work and built and installed an entertainment box for our outdoor sound system. That is just a snapshot, or a fraction, of what they accomplish on weekly basis. I don't say Thank You enough to these guys. If anyone would like to join them, they show up EVERY TUESDAY at 8 a.m. I know they wouold appreciate the help.

During April's General Membership Meeting members voted to allow forStanding Reservations. Standing Reservations are reservations where Members have the ability to reserve a particular table/seat for an entire series of events. They will be broken up into two seasons, indoor (Fall/Winter) and outdoor (summer). These reservations are intended for members who plan to attend every event of the season Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For example, a member who plans to attend every Friday evening event may reserve a particular seat that will be honored every Friday evening. The same will go for Saturdays, if you plan to attend every event on our Saturday evening schedule members may make a standing reservation for those evenings. Members who would like to make reservations for individual events should call the club and not make a standing reservation. Again, Standing Reservations are for members who intend on supporting the club weekly.

There are a few events where Standing Reservations will not be honored. These are ticketed events and fundraisers which we host. This summer they include the 4th Annual Mountain Folk Fest, The Magical History Tour, Readingstock, and Rocking for Redcay.

So, how does this all work? Again, this is not anything new and there was always some procedure being followed. The following were taken/modified from that procedure as presented at a board meeting:

1. Every year a date will be set to begin to accept Standing Reservations for each season, inside or outside. For this upcoming summer, outside, we will begin accepting Standing Reservations from the general membership on June 1, 2016. These reservations will be made as received. We will have a seating chart available to show members what seats are available. Prior to the June 1st date, seating will be offered to honorary members, Board members and then those who volunteer regularly.

2. Nightly reservations will be held until the music begins. If members are not present at this time, or have not called, their reservation will be surrendered for that evening.

3. Only Members can make reservations.

4. Failure to show up for reservations two times without notifying the club will result in the loss of Standing Reservation for remainder of the season. Please be considerate of other members and notify the club as soon as you know you cannot attend an event.

5. Members with Standing Reservations should not permit guests to utilize their seats in their absence. Members not attending an event should call the club in case other members are awaiting the opportunity to make reservations.

I would like to remind all members that it is important to know what is going on at your club and to come out to meetings to vote. Decisions on how the club operates are decided by the votes of those in attendance. Thank You.

Due to the increasing price of hosting large events and to add benefit to our memberships we will be charging a small cover of $5 to NON-MEMBERS attending our Friday and Saturday night Summer Concert Series. This was discussed and finalized during the March General Membership Meetings. So, if you enjoy these events and are not a member, please consider joining our club. Additionally, there will be a few events where members will be charged $3 to attend. This is again based on the cost of hosting certain events and will be clearly marked on our Summer schedule. All members are reminded to please have your membership cards with you while attending club events.

Due to the club's cost of providing entertainment there will be a small admission charge for most Saturday evening bands. This will be the same as our Friday entrance, $3 members/$5 Guest, and will be collected starting at 7 p.m. Those arriving ealier for dinner will be welcome to stay for bands at no additional cost.
